During the rainy season the Kerala Tourism organizes traditional boat race, featuring the 130-feet-long chandan boats. The Nehru Trophy Boat race is one of the most important races, held in the month of August. Beside it, the Aranmula Boat Festival of the Parathasarthy on the bank of holy river Pamba is more stereotypical boat festival.
