Lakshadweep Tourism

Lakshadweep is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in India and plays a pivotal role in generating employment, revenue and above all the comprehensive transformation of people of the Island. Due to world wide global warming, it introduces a maiden tourism , named as ‘Eco Tourism’ and it is totally nature based which includes silvery beaches, rich flora and fauna and marine life.

The island boasts of coral reefs which are the major attractions of beach tourism. With its large costal area, it emerges as one of the largest water adventure destinations in India. Understanding the potential of water sports, the Lakshadweep tourism board has opened water sports institution of Kamat Island which offers facilities such as scuba diving, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, yachting, snorkeling, wind surfing etc.

There are many architectural tourist destinations in the Island such as: The tomb of Hazrat Ubaidula, Mosque of Kavaratti, Kavaratti Aquarium, Buddhist archeological Museum and the Tuna Canning factory. Between October to April is the best time to visit Lakshadweep and the weather remains cool and pleasant.
