Get ready to embark on a Jewish Heritage tour in India, yes.. you got that right, in India! Visit some major centres of Judaism in India in Mumbai and Cochin, see Synagogues and meet Jewish leaders. Observe their unique customs and traditions and see historic sites important to Judaism. You also have a stop at Agra to admire the Taj Mahal and one in Mararikulam – a beautiful beach destination where you can enjoy the Spa. The Special Highlights of this tour are also different from our usual tours. You can enjoy Kalakriti Cultural Show in Agra depicting the era of Mughals and the Taj Mahal as well as a Backwater cruise with local delicacies and Cooking Class on board and a very special Kosher Lunch at Chabad House in Mumbai. This tour gives a great opportunity to visit popular Jewish community areas as well see the scenic sights of South as well North India.


 

Day 01 : Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi our representative meets you at the airport and assists you till your check in process at the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.



 

Day 02 : DELHI

In the morning go for a sightseeing tour of Delhi. Visit Raj Ghat (the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi), Shanti Vana (the cremation sites of Jawaharlal Nehru) and Jama Masjid. Drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. In the afternoon visit Qutub Minar (built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199), Humayun's Tomb, India Gate (War Memorial Arch) and Lakshminarayan Temple (a modern Hindu Temple). Also drive past President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre. Stay overnight at the hotel.



 

DAY 03 : DELHI - AGRA
Drive to Agra, en route stopover at Sikandra for photography. In Agra, our representative assists in your check in process at the hotel. Later visit the Agra Fort which has the Pearl Mosque, Diwan-e-am (the hall of public audience) and Diwan-e-Khas (the hall of private audience). Stay overnight at the hotel.


 

Day 04 : Agra - Jaipur

In the morning visit the famous Taj Mahal built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument is made of white marble and it took 22 years to get constructed. Take breakfast and then drive to Jaipur; en route stop at Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri was built between 1571 and 1585. It is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendour. Though the city is in ruins, it is a must visit place for those who visit Agra. Fatehpur Sikri is a place where one should spend some time. The sunset over the ruins of this fort is a sight to be cherished. On your arrival at Jaipur, our representative assist you in your hotel check in process. Stay overnight at the hotel.



 

Day 05 : JAIPUR

n the morning visit the Amber Fort. Amber Fort was the capital of this state long time ago. Visit the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of victory) which is a hall glittering with mirrors. Ascend the fort on an Elephant back. In the afternoon, go for a sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. It was painted in pink colour a century ago in honour of a visiting prince. Ever since, Jaipur has retained this pink colour. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, a notable astronomer, this city is 260 years old. While in Jaipur, visit Maharaja's City Palace, the Observatory and Ram Niwas Gardens. Drive past the Hawa Mahal. Stay overnight at the hotel.



 

Day 06 : Jaipur - Bombay (by flight)
Morning transfer to Jaipur Airport for Bombay. Meet on arrival at Bombay Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 07 : Bombay

Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit to the Knesseth Eliahoo Synagogue (also known as Fort Jewish Synagogue), established in 1884 by Mr. Jacob Sasson in memory of his father. Leave to visit the Magen David Synagogue - the huge beautiful building is heritage point and famous tourist place it is located in the premises of Jewish school and having prayer services on every morning shabat and every festival synagogue is open from 9 to 9 in evening, Magen David Synagogue was built in 1861 in Byculla, Mumbai, by David Sassoon. It is a tall one-storied building in the style of Victorian architecture. Its gothic character with frontal pillars and clock tower is noteworthy. Magen David Synagogue has a beautiful tebah (reader's platform that marks the center of Sefardic synagogues) and hekhal (ark which holds Torahs in cases of hammered silver). Regular worship services are conducted. Tiphereth Israel Synagogue - is one of the oldest synagogues in Mumbai. It was started in 1886 in a rented building by the Bene Israel community of Mumbai and is now located at Rosh-Del-Villa in Jacob Circle. Tiphereth Israel Synagogue was formally known as Jacob Circle Prayer Hall. It is also called Kandlekaranchi Mashid. Sabbath worships are conducted with community hall, place where religious studies are done and various activities are held. We later visit the ORT and meet Mr Benjamin Isaac. Later visit Gate of Mercy Synagogue or Juni Masjid established in 1796. The street on which the Synagogue stands was named Samaji Street in His Honor and is at present known as Samuel Street. The Synagogue celebrated its centenary in the year 1896 and then renamed Shaar-Ha-Rahamim. Overnight stay at hotel.



 

DAY 08 : Bombay

Magen Aboth Synagogue - situated at Alibag, about 30 km south of Mumbai, on the Mumbai- Goa Konkan Route. It was constructed in 1848. The place was famous as the first town in Konkan where the Bene Israel, the largest Jewish community of Indian Jews, erected a synagogue. The synagogue is located at the place that is known as the Israel alley to the south-east of the town. Regular worships are conducted here. After breakfast depart from the Gateway of India by a catamaran for Mandwa ( 01 Hour ) then by road to visit Magen Aboth Synagogue. It is also accessible by road via Panvel in about three hours (124 km). Alibag is home to a lot of forts, churches, synagogues and the fascinating tower of St. Barbara. After lunch visit to Jewish Cemetery. Depart Mandwa by Catamaran. Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.



 

DAY 09 : Bombay Dept

In the morning stay in the hotel and relax. In late evening, head for the Bombay airport for onward destination.
